From April Fools’ Day favorites to something special for Game of Thrones fans, we’ve put together a line up of some of the best emails from April. Check them out, be inspired and vote for your favorite!

Subject line: Pop Quiz: Poetry Monthly Edition

Everyone loves a pop quiz, so we love this email from Grammarly that engages their subscribers with a chance to show off their knowledge! With multiple choice answers, it’s concise,  easy to engage with, and offers subscribers a bit of fun and the chance to win a prize. Of course it also succeeds in driving people to the site and helping to put Grammarly front-of-mind as an authority on the subject.

Sensorium’s welcome

Subject line: Welcome to Sensorium

This welcome email definitely has the ‘wow’ factor and gives new subscribers a warm welcome. The animated cogs give the impression of everything working expertly behind the scenes, and charming illustrations lead readers down to each of the key product pods. Colour and whitespace are also well balanced to differentiate between sections without feeling cluttered.

Ryanair’s Game of Flowns

Subject line: Visit these lands from £17.99

Game of Thrones fever is hard to avoid at the moment and Ryanair have impressed several fans in the office with this email that advertises flights to locations where the series is filmed. It’s a great opportunity that is well executed with a themed snippet and headline and a strong graphic in Ryanair colours. We would have loved to have seen social sharing icons on there too, as well as a mention of Game of Thrones in the subject line and a send time to coincide with the airing of the latest episode.

Not on the high street’s unusual eggs

Subject line: Less ordinary Easter eggs. Much less ordinary.

Cleverly disguised as an Easter promotion, it’s not immediately obvious that this is an April Fools’ Day email. With the great design and copy that you expect from Notonthehighstreet, it blends in perfectly. And the subject line and opening line of copy even manage to reinforce the brand statement of offering surprising, unusual gifts!

Firebox’s new and exclusives

Subject line: NEW STUFF: Kim Kardashian Jelly Mould, Inner Selfie Stick, Smart ePants and more…

Firebox went to great lengths to create not one but five April Fools’ Day products for their email. With cleverly chosen language, realistic mock ups and a cheeky animation, they work perfectly simply by exaggerating pop culture references its audience will be familiar with. The joke even continues when readers click through to full fake product pages.

Oka’s mood sensitive cushion

Subject line: Introducing our clever cushion

Oka also created a new product for April Fools’ Day – a mood sensitive cushion complete with moods we all recognize, and enough technical details to make you almost believe it. We actually really like the simplicity of the design too – a great way to show product colours and variations!
