With the upcoming launch of Touchstone v2 (stay tuned for more information!), we thought it would be interesting to showcase some of the recent subject lines that have caught our eye here at Alchemy Worx.
James Grieg – I wrote this with my eyes closed
An intriguing subject line. Within his email he spends some time suggesting a writing practice that reduces the distraction of editing as your write by eliminating the ability to see what you’re typing and to address it later.
A double whammy:Wowcher – Sit just got real & Made.com – You’ll want to sit down for this
There’s no better way to get bums in seats than mentioning sitting. Both subject lines are direct and to the point without being bland about the topic. Puns and play-on-words are great eye-catchers, even if some might think they’re terrible!
Bookatable – Voted best steak restaurant in London – steak, lobster, cocktail & £50 win chip, £20 Social proof, an offer and intrigue? A winning subject line, even if a little click-bait-y. Social proof is a great way to grab and hold a reader’s attention, following it up with an offer is a sure bet to hold people’s interest.
EA – Make Your Opinion Count
I don’t know about you, but after recent events on both sides of the Atlantic it seems important to make sure you are counted among the masses; whether thats in a referendum, local/national politics, or user feedback for an entertainment service.
Topgolf – A drink for everyone
Short, sweet and inclusive. They’re promoting a new drinks specials menu. What’s on the menu? Well you’d need to open to find out. Probably too many to list in a subject line thats for sure!
